Youthful Sportsman Defeat Lehigh CC

A youthful Sportsman team defeated Lehigh in a high scoring round one match played at Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres. After been asked to take first strike Sportsman posted 233/4 in their alloted 25 overs. The newcomer to the league Ameer Khan announced himself with a blistering 144* for Sportsman. He was well supported by Zackaruya Abdool and Irshad Abdool.

In reply to the challenging 233 posted by Sportsman, Lehigh started well, however, their middle order faltered and they fell behind in the steep required run rate and was not able to reach their target as overs ran out despite a magnificent unbeaten century from Premchand Churaman. Lehigh ended the inning on 209/6.
